bulletEnvironmental Team: The Green Team is made up of both management and line associates. On the team are members of departments that are major purchasers for the facility, including Engineering, Housekeeping and Food and Beverage. As large volume purchasers, it was determined that these departments could produce the most significant impact on green purchasing and operational procedures.
bulletWe have a purchasing policy to encourage the purchase of environmentally-friendly products and services
bulletList of our environmentally friendly products and services: Replacement of individual water bottles with water coolers. Use of post consumer paper products wherever possible. Replaced all foam cups with compostable, renewable paper or starch based drinkware. Teamed with Gichrist and Soames to convert to dispensers for our most frequently used amenities in the guest rooms, shampoo and conditioner. Gilchrist and Soames themselves produce their products in an environmentally responsible way.
bulletEnvironmental Restoration or Community Environmental Projects: Partnered with the Montgomery County Forestry Board to support them in their school education program in which they travel to schools and educate the students on the importance of reforestation and plant trees at the locations.

Measurable Results
Use of water coolers instead of individual bottles = cost savings of $2,356.00 per month or $28,272.00 per year. Use of water coolers replaced use of 19,608 individual .5 liter water bottles. Use of dispensers for shampoo and conditioner = cost savings of $9,327.00 per year. Use of dispensers replaced use of 24,576 individual 1.1 oz amenity bottles. By mulching rather than paying for disposal = cost savings of $800.00 per year. Use of our mulch over purchase = cost savings of $1,800.00 per year.
