Preakness Celebration is a series of events leading up to the 139th running of the Preakness, the second jewel of horse racing’s Triple Crown, at Pimlico Race Course on May 17, 2014 (always the third Saturday of May.)

The Preakness is one of the nation’s largest, single-day, annual sporting events! Baltimore's Old Hilltop comes alive with the running of the Preakness Stakes, where the finest three-year old thoroughbreds compete for $1 million.

The region's biggest party is at Preakness InfieldFest! The double Grammy Award winner Lorde will headline the 2014 Preakness InfieldFest concert. Switchfoot, Eli Young Band, Sundy Best and Go Go Gadjet will perform on the Jägermeister Stage.

The Bridge will headline a Preakness kickoff concert at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Saturday, May 10 One of Baltimore’s most successful bands, The Bridge has released five studio albums and has toured much of the United States and parts of western Europe since 2001. The band was named Baltimore’s Best Band and Best Album (Cross Street Market) by the City Paper’s reader poll. Tickets are $25 and are available at http://www.ramsheadlive.com/event/543891.

Sunrise at Old Hilltop

The 20-minute walking tours run from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m..
After enjoying sunrise on the Grandstand apron while watching the Preakness contenders’ morning workouts, you will get an insider's perspective on racing during an escorted tour of the stable area. You never know whom you may run into on the backside...trainers, owners, exercise riders, and jockeys can be found there! The Barn area is one place you can count on an interesting story!

Hot Air Balloon Festival at Turf Valley

Black-Eyed Susan Day

One of Pimlico's oldest stakes races, the Black-Eyed Susan was first run at Pimlico in 1919. The mile and one-eighth test, for three-year-old fillies is traditionally run the Friday before the Preakness and has long been recognized as the middle jewel of the traditional filly Triple Crown, which also includes the Kentucky Oaks Stakes and the Acorn. The “Preakness Concert Series” also includes performances by Counting Crows, The Fray and Annie Bosko in the infield on Black-Eyed Susan Day. Don't miss any of the fun!

The region's biggest party is at Preakness InfieldFest! This multi-entertainment festival features nationally-recognized musicians and bands, two stages, MUG Club and unique attractions throughout the day as fans await the running of the Preakness Stakes.  The double Grammy Award winner Lorde will headline the 2014 Preakness InfieldFest concert. Switchfoot, Eli Young Band, Sundy Best and Go Go Gadjet will perform on the Jägermeister Stage.
